About Rosanna Lowe
I work mainly as a theatre playwright, but have also worked as a TV sketchwriter for three series of the BAFTA award winning children’s comedy series Horrible Histories. I’ve had plays performed at numerous theatres, including Queen Elizabeth Hall, Cambridge Arts Theatre and the MAC. Mostly recently, I adapted The Bacchae for Northampton Royal, which ran as part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. My radio plays have won an IRDP Award and the Radio 4 Young Sci-Fi Writer’s Award. I specialise in work for young and family audiences, both as a writer and a theatre director. Directing has included Hummingbirds at the Young Vic, A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Northampton Royal and adapting and directing The Jungle Book, which ran at Northampton Royal, Oxford Playhouse and as Warwick Arts Centre’s main stage Christmas show. I’ve also worked as a travel journalist, winning the Times Young Travel Writer’s Award, and recently finished a travel narrative about Guatemala. At the moment, I’ve hung up my travelling shoes to focus on exploring imaginary worlds and am currently writing a YA Sci-Fi novel.
