We’re looking forward to welcoming Izabela Morska, New Writing South’s first International Writer in Residence, to the UK at the beginning of October.
As part of the residency programme, Izabela will be leading two exclusive workshops on the theme of Writing Through Oppression, in Brighton and London. She will also be part of a special event with Maria Jastrzębska where two ground-breaking queer feminist writers come together for one fascinating conversation.
Izabela’s writing will be of interest to those who want to know how to confront subversive and political themes through their fiction without compromising the telling of a good story.

Izabela and Maria are Polish writers, based in different parts of Europe, come together in a special one-off event at The Writers’ Place in Brighton to discuss their writing and the themes which impact, inform and shape how they reflect on the shifting political situations and landscapes around them. Where and why do their themes converge or diverge? How is this crucial juncture in global politics impacting on the output of these two subversive writers? WRITING THROUGH OPPRESSION: WORKSHOP WITH IZABELA MORSKA
