Hidden Sussex anthology

Writing Our Legacy announces its first print and digital publication, Hidden Sussex, an anthology about the Sussex experience from the Black and minority ethnic (BME/BAME) perspective.

The Hidden Sussex anthology is looking for writing of all kinds – from fiction to poetry, and from prose to memoir. It invites writers to capture Sussex from their own personal experience, as well as the history, culture, landscape, food, drink – whatever inspires you. There are no age restrictions and writers of all backgrounds and levels of experience are invited to submit.

Writing Our Legacy aims is to raise awareness of the contributions of Black and Ethnic Minority (BME) writers, poets, playwrights and authors born, living or connected to Sussex and the southeast England.

The editors for this anthology are are Umi Sinha, Colin Grant and Dean Atta, working in partnership with Word Factory, New Writing South, Creative Futures, Diversity Lewes, Diverse Crawley, African Night Fever and Brighton & Hove Black History.

Writing Our Legacy will also be running creative writing workshops in seven locations across Sussex to inspire and support writers.
