Writers In Schools
Working with the pupils…
You may want to work with a member of the Creative Learning Team for a day to liven up National Poetry day, a week to coincide with a school’s Book Week, or maybe you have a longer project in mind. You tell us.
We can work with you to inspire your students to develop their creative voices, broaden their sense of enjoyment of writing, and contribute to raising standards of literacy.
I was amazed at the success we had in achieving our aims. The evidence was clear from observing students at work and is also evident in the writing they produced.
Working with the teachers…
We don’t just work with students, we run INSET days as well. You may find in useful to have an INSET prior to bringing in a writer to the classroom.
Having a writer work with you and your colleagues is a fantastic way to team build, refresh your own enjoyment of writing and give you a bank of new ideas to bring into your classroom.
The most useful part was feeling like a student again.
Some really great activities to help with the children’s writing. It was really good to share skills with other teachers.
