We’re looking for LGBTQ+ community performers of all ages and with no previous experience required!
Are you interested in being part of the ‘HEAR US OUT’ LGBTQ+ verbatim theatre festival in 2020? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new verbatim theatre festival celebrating older LGBTQ+ people’s stories, as part of our Celebrating our Stories project.
Throughout this year we have been collecting the stories of older LGBTQ+ people across the South East of England. We’ve collected over 35 stories which will be turned into a new piece of theatre as well as a collection of monologues that will tour around the region.
Are you interested in celebrating and helping to amplify the stories of older LGBTQ+ people? Are you interested in helping us turn these stories into performance pieces through practical drama workshops? Are you interested in performing as part of a community ensemble? Then this might be the opportunity for you!
Early next year we will be holding workshops with the project’s writer and director Dinos Aristidou looking at how we bring these stories to life on stage.
Whether you are an experienced performer, have no previous experience, want to give it a go or are interested in getting involved in the wider project please get in touch with us at hello@newwritingsouth.com to register your interest.
