Farewell to our home in North Laine…

August 13, 2020

Dear friends,

Last week we made the difficult decision to vacate our offices in Jew Street and seek new premises in Brighton.

We have loved being in the heart of North Laine but it is clear, in the context of Coronavirus and social distancing, that the space currently used for The Writers’ Place is no longer fit for our purpose. So we’re looking out for new, larger, accessible premises with good ventilation where we can welcome you back for classes, writing group meetups, book launches and a whole range of new literary events in 2021.

We will continue to work as we have done since March, offering all of our courses, development opportunities and events online and look forward to introducing new events, short courses and unique masterclasses in the autumn.

So, as we enter New Writing South’s 20th year, we say thanks and farewell to the office/venue on Jew Street The Writers’ Place, our excellent home for over 10 of those years. We feel invigorated and optimistic about a bold new start in 2021 and look forward to celebrating brilliant, nourishing, inspiring writing from the South East for the next 20 years. We will be delighted to bring you on this journey with us.
