We know that it’s important to our community of writers to have access to industry experts and really good advice. We get approached a lot by writers who have specific questions. How to approach publishers. Whether you should self-publish (and if so, how do you go about that then?). Whether you need an agent, and how to find one that’s right for you. How to get that agent to open your email once you have found them. How to work with young writers. How to create interesting writing projects (and earn money from them). How to promote your own work and build an effective social media presence. Where to get critical feedback on your writing. The list goes on.
To provide you with some of these answers, (and because we can’t spend all day writing emails to you all, as lovely as that would be) we’ve begun the process of commissioning articles from experienced writers and industry professionals who can give you the benefit of their knowledge and experience.
With every monthly newsletter we will release a new resource, gradually building up an online resource library that will cover everything writers need to know. We’re working on a new Frequently Asked Questions section, too.
Our first resource, Preparing Your Work for Submission to Agents and Publishers, is by Beth Miller.
Beth is a novelist, journalist and Book Coach. See more about her work here.
