Hear us Out: LGBTQ+ Performance Opportunity

We are looking for LGBTQ+ community performers of all ages and abilities to perform in our Hear Us Out LGBTQ+ verbatim theatre festival later this year.

Over the last year we’ve collected around 40 stories from older LGBTQ+ people across the South East of England which will be turned into a series of performances. These will be part of this new festival celebrating the lives of LGBTQ+ people over the age of 50.  The festival will include an original stage production that will be presented at Sallis Benney Theatre in Brighton on Saturday 19th September and also a series of shorter satellite performances that will tour the South East.

Join our community company of LGBTQ+  performers and help present the stories of the older members of our community.

You don’t need prior performance experience, and rehearsals will also be flexible around your schedule.

Contact Project Manager Lee Smith by emailing projectmanager@newwritingsouth.com to find out how you can get involved.

The deadline to register your interest in performing is Thursday 5th March.

Host a Hear Us Out event

Later this year, we will be presenting our Hear Us Out verbatim theatre festival celebrating the stories of older LGBTQ+ people. There will be a main stage production at Sallis Benney Theatre in Brighton but also a series of shorter satellite performances and social events that will take place all over the South East. We are currently looking for South-East based residential homes and day centres for older people as well as groups, events and services for older and / or LGBTQ+ people to host these performances and social events. If you represent one of these and are interested in getting involved, please do get in touch with the Project Manager Lee Smith by emailing projectmanager@newwritingsouth.com.

  4. Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?

  5. I’ve been surfing online more than three hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.
